What is the date on the newspaper article, or the assumed date on this tragic murder-suicide? Good to get the facts, but sad. I've admired his art for decades. Thank you for the posting.
My apologies. I can read the newspaper's date now. It was a blur earlier this morning, when I attempted to see it clearly. It is December 29, 1982. Perhaps it was caused by my provider Time Warner Cable suffering a nationwide Internet outage early today. Time Warner Cable said the outage occurred at 4:30 a.m. ET.
No worries. I wondered about the date of the article, too. There is still a possibility that this is not the same man; the article doesn't state his occupation. But, assuming it is him, it means that he was about 27 when he drew the crabman and wrote to NICAP about a creating series of alien renderings that would be published in a catalog. It is a loss that such a project was never undertaken.
